Here’s what the stake looks like this morning, Sunday January 22nd: 11″ of new in the past 24 hours. Yesterday was a fairly light day for a weekend. Southback opened. People cheered. It was awesome.
It has started snowing again, and the radar shows more on the way. Bring it on.

Yes indeed yesterday was awesome. A special shout out from me to the patroller Chet. I was alone but wanted to ski Silver Basin. He let my tag along with him as he headed that direction and then watched as I skied to the basin floor. Thanks for that. One good run into the South Backcountry makes my day and that one run is usually worth the entire price of admission. Yesterday was not exception.
I will pass that on to Chet, George. He’s the Snow Safety Director, so if you have anyone watching your back, he’s the one you want.
We ran out of snow up here in Vancouver and are now back in rain, bleh lol 😀
Bummer! Hopefully it turns back to snow soon. The forecast is calling for rain here Tuesday afternoon, but staying cold in the north. Hope that works out for you up there.
